Box Breathing: As I settle into a comfortable position, I gently close my eyes and bring my attention to my breath. With each inhale and exhale, I envision drawing the outline of a box. Inhaling slowly and deeply through my nose, I trace the first side of the box, feeling my abdomen rise as I fill my lungs with nourishing air. Holding my breath for a count of four, I move along the second side of the box, feeling a sense of stillness and presence. Exhaling slowly and fully through my mouth, I trace the third side, releasing any tension or worries that may linger within. Pausing again for a count of four, I complete the box, relishing in the calmness and clarity that fills my being. I repeat this cycle several times, allowing the rhythmic pattern to guide me back to the present moment, where peace and serenity reside.

The intentional pattern of inhaling, holding, exhaling, and pausing creates a balanced and regulated breath cycle, promoting a sense of calm, clarity, and presence.

Grounding Breath: With my feet firmly planted on the ground, I bring my awareness to the connection between my body and the Earth. I imagine roots extending from the soles of my feet, digging deep into the soil beneath me. Taking a slow, deep breath in through my nose, I envision drawing up the nourishing energy of the Earth through these roots. As I exhale through my mouth, I release any tension or stagnant energy, allowing it to be absorbed by the Earth. With each breath, I feel a sense of stability and grounding, as if I am firmly rooted in the present moment. I continue this practice, breathing in the revitalizing energy of the Earth and exhaling any distractions or worries, feeling a profound sense of connection and balance.

By visualizing roots extending from our feet, we tap into the Earth’s stability and strength, allowing its grounding energy to flow through us. This technique enables us to release excess energy, find stability, and reconnect with the present moment.

Ujjayi Breath: Sitting in a comfortable position, I close my eyes and bring my awareness to the natural rhythm of my breath. With each inhale and exhale, I gently constrict the back of my throat, creating a soft whispering sound, like the ocean’s waves caressing the shore. As I deepen my breath, I imagine drawing in the life force energy that surrounds me, allowing it to fill every cell of my body. With each exhale, I release any tension or thoughts that may cloud my mind, surrendering them to the Universe. The sound of my breath becomes a soothing melody, guiding me deeper into a state of calm presence. I continue this practice, allowing the ujjayi breath to be my anchor, bringing me back to the present moment, where clarity and tranquility reside.

Ujjayi breath is believed to enhance focus, deepen relaxation, and promote a sense of presence. By channeling our breath in this way, we engage the parasympathetic nervous system, inducing a state of calm and connection to the present moment.
