My Spiritual Hygiene Blueprint
Spiritual hygiene is how I stay aligned, attuned, and protected. It’s not something I turn to only in times of crisis—it’s a rhythm I move with every day. Just like I bathe to clear physical residue, I cleanse my energy to release what’s not mine, restore what’s real, and reconnect with the parts of me that feel scattered by the world.
This path opened deeper for me during a Clubhouse room called Spiritual Hygiene in the Haus of Aṣé, held on a Saturn Day and guided by Sen Say. That space held me. It sparked reflection, clarity, and the urge to gather everything I’ve lived, learned, and practiced into one place. This is that place. These are the practices that support me, sustain me, and help me reclaim myself when things feel chaotic, heavy, or unclear.
I didn’t always have language for what I was experiencing. As a child, I’d walk into a room and feel overwhelmed without knowing why. I could sense when someone wasn’t telling the full truth. I could feel tension left behind after an argument. I thought something was wrong with me for noticing so much. But over time, I began to understand that I wasn’t broken—I was simply attuned. My sensitivity was a signal, not a flaw. Spiritual hygiene gave me a way to care for that sensitivity with intention instead of shame.
At the core, my spiritual hygiene is built on flow—cleansing, clearing, and renewing. I treat my energy like a sacred river. When she flows, I feel clear, vibrant, connected. When she gets blocked or cluttered, I feel it in my body, my thoughts, and my emotions. My rituals help me tend to that river so it stays open and alive. This isn’t extra—it’s essential. As a highly sensitive being, I pick up on energies most people miss. That’s not a flaw. That’s part of my design. And because of that, I move with intention.
My daily rhythm weaves through time, routine, energy work, Earth-based allies, and environmental care. Morning light meets me with breath, gratitude, and gentle stretches. I sip my tea slowly, infusing it with intention. Before I leave my space or even scroll my phone, I visualize myself wrapped in light, shielded from what’s not mine. I bless my loved ones, call in ease, and soften into the day ahead. That rhythm continues into the afternoon. If I feel a weight that isn’t mine, I wash it off—sometimes with water, sometimes with music, sometimes with stillness. I don’t wait until I’m overwhelmed. I check in often. I adjust as needed.
Evenings are for softening. As the sun sets, I prepare my energy for sleep and the unseen realms I enter in my dreams. That might mean breathwork, chamomile tea, a bath, or a grounding ritual with salt and oils. I speak protection over myself. I thank the day. I let go of what’s not needed. I ask my ancestors to walk with me as I rest. I don’t see sleep as escape—I see it as portal. Dream space is a dimension where my spirit does powerful work. And I want to be clear, steady, and protected as I move through it.
Throughout the day, my spiritual tools move with me. I speak affirmations that feel like truth in my body. I chant, I use mudras, I move my hands like I’m sculpting energy. I play music that matches the frequency I need—whether it’s clarity, joy, sensuality, or focus. Sometimes it’s binaural beats. Sometimes it’s ritual chants. Sometimes it’s Kendrick or Rihanna. Every sound becomes part of the spell I’m weaving through the day.
There are moments when I don’t use any tools—just presence. Just breath. Just the knowing in my body. Because part of spiritual hygiene is also knowing when to rest. When to unplug. When to be still. My most powerful reset sometimes comes from stepping outside barefoot or lying on the floor with one hand on my heart and one on my belly. That is also spiritual hygiene. Returning to my breath is a form of protection. Returning to my body is a homecoming.
Herbs, oils, incense, and salts are my daily companions. I know what scent centers me. I know what oil protects me. I know what smoke clears a heavy space. Sandalwood keeps me rooted. Copal connects me to ancient memory. Lemon lifts me. Coffee grounds me. Vanilla soothes me. Lavender holds me. Eucalyptus wakes me up and helps me breathe. Salt—simple, powerful—clears everything. These aren’t products to me. They’re relationships I tend and trust. Anointing myself with oil is never random. It’s a reminder: I am protected. I am sacred. I am whole.
I also tend to my physical spaces the way I tend to my inner space. My home holds energy. My car. My workspace. All of it reflects me. I cleanse not just with sage or sound, but with intention. A clean space supports a clear spirit. When the energy around me is still and calm, I can soften into myself more fully. I sometimes walk through my home with prayer on my lips and gratitude in my heart, whispering affirmations into the walls. My space is not just a container—it’s an extension of my spirit.
All of this, every step, every scent, every moment of pause—it’s how I stay in tune with my truth. Spiritual hygiene is how I come back to myself. How I make sure I’m not carrying what isn’t mine. How I stay connected to Spirit. And how I remember that I don’t have to wait until something is wrong to care for myself deeply.
This isn’t a prescription—it’s a living blueprint. Let it meet you where you are. Take what resonates. Create your own rituals. Listen to your body. Listen to your energy. You’ll know what works. You’ll know what feels real. Let your spiritual hygiene become your own form of devotion—a daily act of protection, remembrance, and love.
If you’re wondering where to begin or how to deepen your own rhythm, here are a few simple, soul-aligned ways to care for your energy:
- Speak your name with love in the mirror each morning.
- Wash your hands with intention, visualizing anything heavy flowing down the drain.
- Light a candle and name your desires aloud—even if they feel soft or small.
- Play music that moves your spirit, not just your body.
- Use salt—on your skin, in your bath, or in a small bowl near your bed—to clear your field.
- Let water touch your body with purpose. Shower. Cry. Soak.
- Carry a scent that brings you back to your breath.
- Create a simple phrase you can repeat when energy feels off, like I return to myself.
Start small. Stay curious. Your energy will teach you what it needs. And every act of care—no matter how subtle—is a sacred choice to honor who you are.
